- Fun Fact: The Tonys and the Drama Desk nominators chose two different female dancers to single out from the show for recognition: the Tony folks liked Valarie Pettiford while the Drama Desk was more impressed with Jane Lanier. Pettiford would go on to get more work as a performer while Lanier became a teacher and professor.
